  1. Description/Purpose
  2. ===================
  3. ViewBar is a multithreaded text file viewer implemented as an
  4. Application Desktop Toolbar, like the Windows 95 taskbar.
  5. It has an integrated file viewer/editor, file finder and
  6. grep (find text patterns in specified files) utility, which
  7. all run in their own user interface threads.  It also
  8. supports Windows 95 file type associations, so non text files
  9. which have a file association defined for their extension may
  10. also be viewed with other external viewers.
  11. Viewbar also provides a tasklist of currently open viewers
  12. allowing quick access to all open files.
  13. Also included source for a GUI Win32 version of GNU Grep V2.

  19. Installation
  20. ============
  21. Unzip VwBar100.zip, prefarably using a Windows 95 ZIP utility such
  22. as WinZip which supports long filenames, then run SETUP.EXE.
  23. Note : The program itself will work OK if unzipped with normal
  24. command line PKUNZIP, just the GNUGREP source contains some
  25. long filenames.
  26. If using the command line PKUNZIP remember to use the -d switch to
  27. expand sub-directories eg pkunzip -d VwBar100
  28.

  31. Freeware
  32. (GNU copyleft applies to GNU Grep source ie you must
  33. distribute the source with the program, or any other program
  34. in which you use the GNU Grep source).
